about
This song came to life through a thoroughly modern process. GoldChain and Quinton each went to a record store, with each buying a random record, and returning to their respective studios to begin their process. They then proceeded to complete the song entirely over e-mail, never being in the same place. An early version was demoed for Benjamin Alexander who quickly fell in love with the raw instrumental and brash flows. After some time, the song refusing to leave his brain, Benjamin finally propositioned G & Q for the stems for a remix. Benjamin then proceeded to craft the remix over a string of reclusive, late nights, refusing to to leave his studio until it was completed. The final mix and master was then completed by Nick Fields and the album art was crafted by 18 year old designer, Christian Aufderheid, neither of which ever met with the G, Q, or B in person. It feels fitting that a song that sonically taps into the undercurrent of modern America was made through purely modern means, with the entire creative process being completed strictly through virtual collaboration.
lyrics
[Intro]
Im tired of hypocrite freaks
With tongues in their cheeks
Turning their eyes as they speak
They make me sick and tired
[Verse: GoldChain Malik]
I do what I feel
Hand on mic like welding to steel
It’s hot here cowboy
Don’t burn in the field
Dust to dust you Urning a meal
Who want six with the desperado
Nigga Hold guala
Pinch pennys don’t play lotto
Pimp simply we to hard follow
Sept Quinton no ones in my pile
Skipped mention will that snatch ya smile
Kid
Hella mileage you spent on them little round tracks
Bound to baggage break back
Like get free
Gеt money get something
Kid
Flow еffortlessly
Elements undisturbed
Like rivers
Nigga been here before
Heart of the city, I’m pure
As the sun up
Nigga What’s up, y’all fed up
My records moving outta store
[Verse 2: Quinton Brown]
(Yeah)
Door been open on the road gliding before nigga was ridding them low
Rims with the spokes trunk with the sub providing the bass when I’m riding the flow
Fuck all you know fuck all your hoes. Fuck on you bitch I don’t even do shows
Plus when I do imma fuck her some more. Don’t be so fake like you knew me before
I wanted waves I wanted braids
Wanted to flex now a nigga wants paid
Y’all niggas slaves to society
Dick riding but ain’t riding me
Chicken wings with a side piece
5 piece with a diet please. Piece of mind keep it quiet please
See them trying but ain’t trying me
But these niggas keep on talking what you talking bout
Broke nigga what you talking bout
Niggas keep talking what you talking bout
Broke nigga what you talking bout
